Accomplishments

  • Successfully lobbied against efforts to eliminate the Single Cost Accounting System 
  • Worked cooperatively with the State Dept. of Education for a reasonable approval process 
  • Conduct a yearly statewide conference with a national perspective 
  • Part of the first statewide coalition to address critical special education issues 
  • Effectively work with our lobbyist to insure the needs of our membership are met at the State and Federal levels 
  • Represent private special education as a member of the State Advisory Council on Special Education and the Comprehensive System for Personnel Development (CSPD)  
  • Worked closely with the leadership of ConnCase with focus on the regulations 
  • Recently became recognized as a Not For Profit Association through the Federal Government 
  • Active member of the Council of Affiliated State Associations 
  • Affiliation with the National Association of Private Special Education Centers and to maintain federal issues that effect special education
