At CAPSEF, our mission is to be the pre-eminent voice of advocacy for our member schools and the students and families they serve.

We promote the interests of the most needs students in our state and the schools that service them. We strive to strengthen administrative leadership in special education and promote innovative educational programs and services for all students in private special education facilities appropriate to the individual student needs.

These goals are accomplished through an on-going professional development program throughout the year that culminates with our annual conference. Monthly collaboration among the member schools provides additional opportunities for support and professional growth.

Additionally, CAPSEF provides a strong and unified voice on behalf of its members, their students and families with the CT Dept. of Education, the Bureau of Special Education, the State Legislature, Public school special education directors, special education service providers and advocacy groups.
